Phil Weidinger, President

With more than 20 years of public relations experience, Phil has continually demonstrated his ability to generate profits for his clients through effective campaigns. He specializes in campaign planning, creative, client relations, special events and media relations.

For the past 17 years, Phil has owned, operated and managed Weidinger Public Relations. The five-person firm has earned regional and national reputation as knowledgeable, creative and results-oriented.

Prior to starting Weidinger Public Relations, Phil was the Tournament Director of the United States Senior Open Golf Championship at Edgewood Tahoe. In that role, he was responsible for the overall coordination of the tournament and handled all public relations, advertising, promotions, and media relations in local, regional and national markets.

From 1980-1984, Phil was Director of Public Relations and Advertising at Caesars Tahoe where he initiated marketing programs which increased overall visitor counts by 103%.

He held the position of Assistant Director of Public Relations with San Francisco 49ers in 1978. He did not lead the team in yards rushing, touchdowns, or tackles, but he did establish an excellent reputation and credibility among the Bay Area and national media.

Phil graduated from the San Francisco State University in 1976 with a B.A. in Journalism. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, Society of America Travel Writers, Public Relations Counselors Academy and the President of Edgewood Tahoe Men's Club. Phil is past president of the Tahoe Douglas Chamber of Commerce; past member of the Nevada Banking Company Board of Directors; and has been involved with the Lake Tahoe Big Brother/Big Sister program.
