What is your background before you came to work at Weidinger?

I graduated in May 2006 from the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. Prior to graduating I worked for Rose-Glenn Group, a full-service PR and advertising firm located in Reno. At Rose-Glenn Group I developed a passion to work in an agency with a variety of clients. I assisted with the grand opening of the Summit Sierra Shopping Center in Reno, developing a campaign for a new live-work community, Kiley Ranch Communities, as well as several local non-profit clients. I also worked with Seventh Wave Productions and helped to plan the Big Blue Adventure Race series at Northstar-at-Tahoe. After graduation I worked at the City of Reno in the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department assisting with PR and marketing. I helped to implement a marketing plan for the department, assisted in several media events, and created marketing pieces and advertisements.

What is it about PR that you like?

PR is about the people and the relationship/friendships you build. I love to see the clients’ business or events flourish because of your efforts. And I love that it is fast-paced and no two days are alike.

What inspires you?

I’m inspired by being around the things that I love and that are most important in my life, my family, friends and my faith.

Favorite quotes:
"We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere!"

What are you most proud of?

My senior year in college I was a part of the prestigious Integrated Marketing Competition (IMC) Team, which is a team of student who collaborate for two semesters (one semester of research and the second on planning) to create a campaign for a client chosen by the American Advertising Federation. The year I was on the team our client was Postal Vault Systems, a company with little brand recognition that sold secure locking mailboxes. We created a campaign that took some risks with the target market, and our PR ideas and advertising approach was outside the box. Our campaign was unique, creative and catered to the client’s desires, which made our presentation stand out. We won regionals and competed in the National Student Advertising Competition, unfortunately we didn’t win, but we should have! Our team was the buzz of the competition among our competitors and professionals.

I’m also proud of graduating college in four years and having a full-time career job in the field that I actually went to school to study.

What is your most memorable experience?

I would have the say our IMC team winning the regional competition. After pouring all of our time into this project and falling in love with our ideas and campaign, actually winning was a fantastic feeling.

Additionally, traveling with my two best friends to California on multiple occasions to go visit Disneyland, San Francisco, and the beach are defiantly some of my most memorable experiences. The three of us always have the best time together and end up laughing until we fall to the floor. I love those girls!

What is your favorite word and why?

Loquacious, it is fun to say and it describes me pretty well.

What is your favorite book and why?

Still searching…the past four years I’ve been engrossed in textbooks and haven’t read that many good books. Thus far I have enjoyed the Left Behind Series, books by Dan Brown, The Great Gatsby, Persuasion by Jane Austen and Uncle Tom’s Cabin.

What is your favorite color and why?

Blue, it always has been. When I was 2 years old if I wore any color other than blue then I would throw a temper-tantrum.

What are your interests?

I love the outdoors and Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places in the world! I enjoy hiking, camping, snowboarding, running, swimming, football and basketball. I am a social person so I love hanging out with my friends and meeting new people. I look forward to playing trivia once a week at a local pub in attempt to win free Sierra Nevada beers.

How would you describe yourself to someone who does not know you?

The tall, athletic, loquacious blonde who is always smiling.
